Photo Safari to Manchester

Home » Photo Safari to Manchester

Hi All

Larry has very kindly volunteered co-ordinate a trip out (he should get the use of his arm back soon 😉

Some members have expressed an interest in a photo safari to Exchange Square and the Corn Exchange Building. Such an excursion might concentrate on the buildings and architectural details around this region of the city including: Manchester Cathedral, The Big Wheel, Urbis, St Anne’s Church, Manchester Town Hall, and The Central Library.

The suggestion is that we make this excursion an evening event possibly sometime in June, but avoiding Thursday so we don’t screw up the syllabus. The rationale behind making this an evening event is that you have plenty of light in June for good photo opportunities rounding off the evening at the Big Wheel as darkness falls.

With regard to travel arrangements depending on numbers we could travel to Manchester either by mini-coach or private car. Anyone interested in supporting this event should contact Lary Wright.

It has been a while since we had a club outing, I think the last was to Alexandra Park last year. OPS Club outings used to be a regular occurrence a few years ago but, for a variety of reasons, they lost their appeal. I always enjoyed them and they are an easy excuse to get your camera out and make some great images, I often need a kick in the nether regions to get out in the wild and be creative. I for one would love this to succeed and the only way is if as many of us as possible can lend our support to Larry for kicking this off again.

Manchester is a wonderful place to go with a camera, there are so many different sight and scenes, buildings, details, people and the list goes on. Ther is something for every type of photographer you just have to get out there open your eyes and your mind and have fun.
