Battle against the Isle of Man PS Oldham PS triumphed in a virtual two-club photography competition, which usually includes Rochdale & District Camera Club, using Zoom. Although Rochdale couldn’t participate, high-quality images abounded, with Oldham entering 25 works. A standout image, Brianna’s “Nicholas Hough Hurdles,” received top marks among several high scorers.
FIAP World Cup 2023 The FIAP World Cup for Clubs 2023 Results have been released, with our club ranking 37th out of 226 clubs from 45 countries. Although not as successful as last year, we commend our members’ efforts. Russian group “New World” secured the top position, with UK clubs Wigan 10 Foto Club and Catchlight CC following closely. Notably, Paul Statter of Wigan 10 received an Honorable Mention. Our club had five images selected for the World Cup Exhibition.
The OCC Invitation Club Monochrome Print Competition Oldham CC revived their Monochrome Print Competition, drawing 98 images from 14 clubs. Judge Gordon Jenkins scored each out of 20, with Oldham Photographic Society earning the winning score of 132 out of 140 from seven entries. The “Best Print Overall” was awarded to “Brianna” by Christine Widdall.
