‘AVs to Share Evening’ (2011-09-09)

This meeting was great ……….. at least for me it was! Seeing your own AVs (audio-visuals) on the big screen is a thrill ……… they look (and sound!) so much different from seeing them on the monitor.

Not everyone in OPS makes AVs so I’m hoping that what the members saw, and hopefully enjoyed, will at least whet the appetite to find out more.

The members’ AVs up for viewing included ones that had a personal, family element and were made primarily for the family to enjoy but which touched the rest of us as well. There was wit and humour, our first attempts at combining video with the still image, 3D animation, history with a twist, and the Swans at Abbotsbury. One AV, presented as ‘work still in progress’, gave us a glimpse into the terrible living conditions of a number of families living in Roumania ………. even at this unfinished stage it was a stark reminder to us of how very fortunate we should consider ourselves.

Making Audio Visuals can be all about making them for your own purposes and enjoyment; simple or complex, for family, friends, club or competition; even just for the kick of seeing it on your own screen! There can be something for everyone. If you haven’t, already, give it a try!
