 16 Round-up Challenge Competition. This will be an opportunity to show again, and have judged, your best work from all of this year’s challenges. You can take part even if you didn’t do that challenge at the time.

There are five challenges, the first four of which must be uploaded to to competition portal. These are:

High Key / Low key
Monochrome landscape / Portrait

The fifth category is “Photo Essay” and these must be brought on the night on a memory stick.

 23 Speaker: “The Creative Power of Monochrome” by Simon Watkinson
30 The Travis Burton Lecture “The Old Halls of Lancashire and Cheshire”. This is a talk that was given at the Royal Photographic Society and at various societies throughout the country, by Travis Burton, FRPS, who was possibly our most famous Victorian member. Burton died in 1942. We have his original lantern slides in our collection and they will be borrowed back from the archive to show on the night. Our lanternist will be Mark Watson, President of Manchester PS and Burton’s original script for the lecture will be read out by Christine Widdall. Feel free to dress Victorian on the night – this is another event in our celebration of 150 years of Oldham PS.
