New member Leslie Peel was delighted to have one of his photographs shown on the BBC Springwatch programme on Monday evening. His beautiful portrait of a male chaffinch was taken at Daisy Nook Country Park in Ashton-under-Lyne and is shown below.

I was just out walking when he landed on the aqueduct parapet in front of me. I have my camera set in manual mode and auto ISO. This was the first shot in a burst of five and the settings were:
1/800 sec @ f4.0, ISO 1100, 300mm lens on cropped sensor EFL = 450mm
