It’s time for another competition roundup!
In May, we held our 3rd Quarterly Competitions (Q3), with separate sections for Prints and Projected Images. For each entrant, the highest-scoring image in each quarterly event is totalled, and the competitor with the highest aggregate score in each section will be crowned the winner. Only if there is a tie are the second highest marked images used.
Q3 Prints scoring 19 and 20

Q3 Projected Images scoring 20

Mini Warwick
Looking forward to July, we will be representing the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union as one of the clubs competing at Warwick, for the PAGB Interclub Challenge, a national event, where the best clubs from each federation take part. The top 8 clubs have a pre-qualification for the next year’s event and last year we came 5th. So a couple of years back, we decided to give our club members a taste of how it works, by entering our own event as individuals.
This year, Gill Brett was victorious with her final round images below.

Congratulations Gill and well done to all who entered this quirky competition.
John Widdall Trophy
On the 5th of June, we finally had the pleasure of hosting the John Widdall Trophy—judged by Robert Millin, it was a fantastic evening that had been postponed from March due to an exceptionally busy schedule. If you are new to the club in recent years, there is a page about John at this link.
While the rules may be a bit intricate, the result is straightforward: the highest-scoring set of four images takes the award!.
Participants had the challenge of selecting up to three mixed sets of four images, ensuring that at least two of our four featured genres were represented in each set—Stitched Panoramas, Composite, Close-up and Table Top, or Architectural Record. A huge congratulations to Andrea Wilson for her winning set comprising two close up, one panorama and one composite image.
