We've always found Wigan 10 members to be an inspirational and their new girl on the block does not disappoint. KT Allen only started to combine her photography with Photoshop editing just over a year ago and has already taken the photographic community by storm, winning a number of national and international awards.
KT has recently won the best image in the Edinburgh Salon this year. Edinburgh has probably the oldest open exhibition in the world and this year, for their 150th anniversary, they have struck a special gold medal for the best image. Her images have a fantastic feel to them. You might like to see her website, where you can see her winning image, other examples of her work and a very interesting deconstruction of one of her images.
Another gold medal winner is Libby Smith of Carluke, Scotland, who was awarded two golds.
Oldham PS member Christine Widdall also won a gold medal, awarded by judge Gabriel O'Shaugnessy, for her image "Gerbera", shown below.
All three ladies will collect their awards during the Edinburgh Festival in August.
